Sky District

Sky District is a landmark project for the coastal city of Ostend. Located on the border of the historic Mercator Dock and the city’s railway station, the masterplan comprises the building of two iconic towers and five buildings with varying heights and mixed program.

The project addresses both the human scale experience of the public space and the city scale impact of the landmark towers.

The project transforms the railway neighbourhood, creating new and transforming the existing public domain. The buildings have an active ground floor which connects with wide pedestrian zones and attractive landscaping.

The towers have a smart silhouette and footprint, with the wide exterior terraces shaping the characteristic and dynamic view
