De Blekerij

Ever is a mixed-use masterplan in Kortrijk transforming the former industrial site De Blekerij into a lively, green and connected neighbourhood. The natural qualities of the site, the Leie border and old Leie meander, are enhanced by the new public parc, opening up the former brownfield to the neighbourhood. Most eye-catching are the two curved 14-story residential towers along the river.

A public park is created around the old meander of the Leie, which is hidden and inaccessible today. The park forms both a functional and recreational connection towards the neighbourhood.

The south-facing terraced slope at the Leie meander creates a valuable meet, play and relax environnement. The accessible inner courtyard provides a more intimate residential atmosphere. Its architecture is harmonious, durable and sober.

Along the Meensesteenweg, the historical building and brick wall of the Blanchisserie de Courtrai is renovated and repurposed. A public entrance square is created welcoming the public to the shops, offices and public green areas
